Pawsibilities Dog Training Intern

Description

Intern will learn all elements of training dogs and their owners, beginning with basic manners and puppy training and progressing to more complex behavior problems as the intern demonstrates aptitude and understanding.

Compensation

This is an unpaid position, focused on developing the intern’s knowledge of dog training and teaching techniques. We do have a paid position available for an individual who develops the ability to train clients and their dogs unsupervised.

 

Requirements

There are no minimum education requirements for this position, but the following qualities are a must:

• A passion for making a difference for dogs and their families

• Self-driven and eager learner, willing to accept direction

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Professionalism in appearance, communication, and follow through

• Punctual and reliable

• Living in Ottumwa or willing to commute often – lessons may not always be back-to-back
